Chapter 387: Between the Boxes
============================================================

"May I sit upon it, Shiyao?"

Li Shiyu had barely finished speaking before she was already seated upon the throne of the Godslayer Queen.

Ye Qinghan and Dongfang Jue immediately glanced at He Guang, fearing he might be displeased—after all, that was the seat of Lord Gu Ai.

Not only did Li Shiyu sit down, but she kept shifting and squirming, occasionally bouncing up and down—whether she found it comfortable or uncomfortable was unclear.

Surprisingly, He Guang seemed unfazed. He merely smiled, his expression calm as he turned to Dongfang Jue and Ye Qinghan.

"Did you think I'd abandon her? It's just a chair—nothing special. If you two fancy it, feel free to take a seat?"

"Uh… no, thank you…"

Ye Qinghan couldn't quite gauge He Guang's temperament yet. But her master's Valkyries were all smiling tigers—moody and unpredictable. Better not to do anything unnecessary.

She might be the beloved young lady in Master Gu Ai's eyes, but in front of these Valkyries, she was nothing!

"Sister Heguang, why is this place called the Box Room?"

"I don't know either. When Shiyao finds out, she'll tell me too~"

"Okay~"

Noticing the group pause, Dongfang Jue broke the ice: "That stone statue… it bears a striking resemblance to Second Senior Sister, doesn't it?"

"That's Lord Xunye. Many in the mansion, including Lord Gu Ai, Amber, and myself, were once his subordinates."

"And to Lady Gu Ai, Lord Xunye was like a mother figure."

Ye Qinghan had long wanted to hear about Xun Ye and that great fox, but she had never actively broached the subject.

Dongfang Jue quickly recalled the last time he'd heard that name—Lord Xunye was clearly long dead.

This, most likely, was the reason these people harbored resentment toward their master. For ordinary people, perhaps there would be no avenue for redress, and the matter might simply fade away.

But they were Valkyries, possessing power to destroy heaven and earth. Yet they couldn't even avenge those important to them. How could they possibly swallow that humiliation?

It wasn't that they couldn't do it, but rather that they had another important person in their lives: Xiao Ai. They didn't want to see Xiao Ai suffer.

Losing either Su Cheng or Xun Ye would undoubtedly be a crushing blow to Xiao Ai.

Xiao Ai had already lost one. How could they bear to watch her lose another important person?

"Let's go, Shiyu. We have class."

Li Shiyu showed no fear whatsoever. Shaking her golden-haired little head as if still relishing her imperial fantasy, she waved her hand grandly and declared, "Rise, my loyal subject~"

With that, Li Shiyu seemed utterly satisfied before hopping down from her throne.

Following behind He Guang, Dongfang Jue also approached Ye Qinghan and whispered.

"Senior Sister, did you notice?"

"Hm?"

"In the chamber, there's a statue of you. That woman holding the giant sword looks just like you."

"Of course. But what caught my attention was something else."

"What?" Dongfang Jue was puzzled. What could be more astonishing than this?

Of the three direct disciples, two had statues in this chamber!

Dozens of Godslaying Kings wielding authority had transformed into stone pillars reaching to the heavens, collectively supporting the painted celestial dome roof. The symbolism was unmistakable.

Dongfang Jue recognized the Great Fox, but she also noticed something else!

Ye Qinghan and the Great Fox had never met!

Just as had been said before, no skilled artisan could carve the Great Fox's perfection. Even though it appeared lifelike, Dongfang Jue always felt it lacked that innate look of contempt for all things that the Great Fox possessed.

The Great Fox stood tall, hands lightly resting on the massive sword before it. Though carved in stone, its imposing presence remained undiminished!

Lord Xunye, meanwhile, held aloft the power symbolizing space with a single hand. Though Dongfang Jue had never seen the real person, he could still feel the oppressive presence emanating from the King of Gods!

Walking through the grand hall felt like facing judgment itself, even breathing became stifled.

Dongfang Jue truly couldn't understand why Li Shiyao could still wander around, looking at everything with such wonder!

"Have you seen our master's wife?"

Dongfang Jue froze upon hearing his senior sister's question…

Her gaze swept the hall once more, scrutinizing every sculpture—those she recognized and those she didn't.

But nowhere was Xiao Ai—Gu Ai, the Godslayer King wielding the Scepter of Guardianship.

"This is the place." He Guang's voice echoed as they stood before a peculiar door.

The corridors of this underground palace resembled tunnels, and this was the sole door at the end of this particular passage.

Resembling a massive fire door, it was half a meter thick and dozens of meters tall, encased in special steel—a material seemingly identical to the Godslayer Armor. Its inner composition remained hidden, as if designed to imprison some monstrous entity.

Ye Qinghan could imagine this door likely withstanding most of her divine abilities!

Following He Guang inside, she found neither a prison nor a training ground, but a vast, empty hall. A handful of people sat chatting on the steps along the side.

"Sister He Guang, what is this place?"

"This is the Hall of the King of Hell—the Valkyrie Academy, the factory that produces war machines."

Ye Qinghan remained composed, Dongfang Jue showed no haste, but Li Shiyao was flustered and hurried!

"Sis He Guang, Shiyu's watermelon fell in the storage room. Can Shiyu go get it?"

Heguang couldn't help but chuckle. This Li Shiyu—she possessed Gu Ai's adorable charm and Xun Ye's thoughtful nature. Quite an interesting mix.

She had personally seen Li Shiyu place the watermelon on the table before following her. Fearing it might roll under the desk, Shiyu had deliberately placed it right in the center, pushing Amber's documents to the edges.

"Hah, Shiyu really is adorable~"

The Hall of the King of Hell? Shiyu wouldn't dream of staying there! Shiyu wanted to find Lord Gu Ai to eat watermelon!

She came to play!

Not to attend class!

"Hehe, so can Shiyu go get it?"

"No."

Just as Li Shiyu was about to ask why, she realized… that "no" seemed to come from someone else…

Following the sound, she saw a familiar man approaching.

"Master? What are you doing here?"

But Su Cheng didn't rush to answer. Instead, he nodded to He Guang before sitting down on a collapsed stone pillar nearby.

"Thanks for your help, He Guang."

"Don't call me so casually, as if we're old friends!" He Guang shot him a look of contempt. Even if Xiao Ai had reconciled with Su Cheng, that didn't mean she'd forgiven him!

"Hehe, don't get mad. You actually look pretty good when you smile, really!"

"Smile my ass! Keep talking and I'll chop off all three of your legs!"

Su Cheng rolled his eyes. He had regained his power, but it would take time to fully master it again.

He wasn't afraid of Hakko anymore~

Valkyrie, the tables have turned~

But he had no intention of teasing He Guang. He was here to accompany his three disciples to class.

"Qinghan, Juer, Shiyu, for today's first lesson, you'll start by learning diligently from the lovely Sister Heguang."

"I'll be right here with you, so don't worry."

As cultivators, they'd never imagined lessons meant reading books. Ye Qinghan had anticipated Crane Light might teach them a few techniques.

But even Ye Qinghan hadn't anticipated today's first lesson would be this stimulating!

Su Cheng spoke slowly on Heguang's behalf, introducing today's lesson to the three direct disciples.

"Today, you will learn how to live."
