Chapter 273: Unplanned Convergence
============================================================

Nanding City. Ku Mu walked down the street surrounded by beautiful female guards, his gaze falling upon four characters gilded in gold on a signboard.

"Dust Dream Awakens, Dust Dream Awakens. Night's Light Chill. Interesting~"

"Sir, do you think Ye Qinghan invited you?" The maid beside him remarked. Since arriving in this world, the servants had adapted to local customs, each changing into traditional attire.

Their original maid skirts had been replaced with long, traditional-style dresses. While slightly less revealing, they carried a different kind of charm.

She couldn't understand it. Ever since entering Lingxian Hall, spatial suppression had enveloped the entire two-kilometer radius. She hadn't detected any communications—let alone any from her own master!

Ku Mu and Ye Qinghan hadn't exchanged a word either, nor had they even seen each other. Ye Qinghan hadn't left her room all night.

"That's right, she'll come. If it weren't for her, I'd definitely have another drink with Chengzi."

Ku Mu seemed supremely confident as he strode into the tavern and reserved a private room.

"You may withdraw. We have private matters to discuss~"

As he spoke, Ku Mu gave the maid beside him a firm pinch on the buttocks, then planted a kiss on her cheek before dismissing them. He remained alone, sipping his tea.

The tavern buzzed with activity, open twenty-four hours a day, its nights filled with revelry. At this hour, it still hosted revelers who had partied all night.

Ku Mu relished this atmosphere. He had once been a regular at such places—a world of neon lights, revelry, and extravagance.

"That fox scent… no mistake about it~" Ku Mu's lips curved slightly. He knew this scent all too well~

Soon, footsteps echoed from outside. The figure pushing open the door was exactly as he'd expected—Ye Qinghan, the direct disciple of Lingxian Hall's First Disciple.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Ku Mu… Sir?"

"Just call me Ku Mu." Ku Mu merely smiled. After all, his big fox wasn't one for such formalities.

"Since you're here, it means we have matters to discuss, correct?"

Ye Qinghan slowly took a seat, feigning composure while putting on a confident face.

She could sense this man's overwhelming power. Truthfully, if she fell into his hands, she feared her fate would mirror Bai Tao's—a death she couldn't even beg for.

"I've always granted every request from beauties—especially one as lovely as you, my dear beauty~"

Ku Mu smiled with gentlemanly grace, but his expression genuinely struck Ye Qinghan as lecherous—frankly, it was revolting…

"I'd prefer we exchange information as equals. Stop staring at me like that—it's disgusting."

Ku Mu couldn't care less. After all, among the known women in the throne room, the only one he hadn't touched was Xiao Ai's butt.

"Hahaha, no need for that. Ask whatever you want. Looking won't hurt~"

"But rest assured, as long as Su Cheng still wants you, I won't touch you."

Ku Mu's gaze was like that of a starving wolf—like Li Shiyao had spotted a delicate cream puff!

Ye Qinghan pursed her lips. Truthfully, even if this guy tried to touch her, she'd only be able to run away—she had no chance of fighting back.

"I want to know Xiao Ai's identity. What's her relationship with the Master?"

Ku Mu was slightly surprised. She hadn't expected Ye Qinghan to ask this right off the bat, assuming she'd be more concerned about Su Cheng's past.

"I thought you'd be more curious about your master's true identity."

"Qinghan has her own judgment regarding the Master."

"Her name is Gu Ai. She was Su Cheng's most outstanding personal attendant—without a doubt."

As they spoke, Ku Mu produced a dossier as if she'd been prepared all along. A vivid pink photograph of a young woman lay within, the name Gu Ai clearly visible beside it.

Ye Qinghan struggled to understand many of the terms and phrases, but she grasped that they all emphasized Gu Ai's exceptional talent and formidable strength.

Her personal file was as thick as a book, detailing every action taken on specific dates with meticulous precision.

Ye Qinghan only skimmed through a couple of pages. "More than this, I'd like to know your opinion."

"With Xiao Ai, Su Cheng is the revered master. Without Xiao Ai, Su Cheng wouldn't even be able to climb onto the bed."

"Why do you say that? Isn't she just a personal attendant?"

Ku Mu, seeing Ye Qinghan's curiosity, grinned.

"Her official title is Inner Chamber Attendant—essentially Su Cheng's personal maid. But unlike other attendants, she addresses Su Cheng as 'My Lord.'"

"This means that person, that life, belongs entirely to Su Cheng. It signifies absolute loyalty, loyalty beyond question."

"Do you understand what that implies? It means that even if Su Cheng ordered her to die, she would comply—as long as the reason wasn't utterly preposterous."

"With that level of loyalty, coupled with Su Cheng's indulgence, she's taken control of military affairs, governance, and finances. If she wanted to, she could accomplish anything with ease."

"This insignificant attendant maintains thirteen personal Valkyrie guards and even commands a private army of fifteen thousand men, all equipped with the finest, most advanced weapons and gear."

"But thankfully, she's here. After Su Cheng left, those who were itching to act—those fools coveting the Supreme Leader's seat—all held back, afraid to make a move."

"I don't dislike her, but she's so damn stingy. Six hundred suits of armor—she dragged her feet for half a year before giving me any. By the time she finally handed over two hundred, the damn war was already over!"

Ku Mu really got worked up talking about this, as if Xiao Ai owed him a mountain of debt, looking ready to vent his grievances!

But before he could finish, the door burst open!

Keep in mind, Ku Mu had personally set up an isolation barrier. Not just ordinary people, but even second-rate individuals couldn't get in!

Even Ye Qinghan couldn't leave without Ku Mu's permission. The fact that the door was kicked open meant the intruder was no ordinary person!

The door kicked open, and a childish voice filled with curses echoed through the air!

"What the hell are you doing over there? Drink some horse piss, you don't even know your own name, do you?"

There stood Gu Ai, clad in military uniform, making a commanding entrance. She brushed Ye Qinghan aside, hopped onto the table, and sat down, glaring at Ku Mu.

Ku Mu suddenly seemed possessed by Su Cheng. He could act tough with others, but in front of Little Ai, he had to keep a low profile…

Watch as the once-arrogant Ku Mu instantly switched his tune: "Oh my, my Lord Gu Ai! How did you get here? Those bitches didn't even tell me—shouldn't I have gone to fetch you?"

Xiao Ai curled her lip. "Lord Ku Mu seems to hold quite a grudge against Xiao Ai. Hundreds of battle armor suits delayed you for half a year."

"Now you're exaggerating, Lady Gu Ai had her reasons…"

Xiao Ai was genuinely annoyed now: "Ku Mu, if you like it so much, how about I hand over the financial reins to you?"

Ku Mu was utterly stunned. How did he end up with this plague of a girl? "Xiao Ai, don't be angry. Can't I just apologize? Next time, I'll bring you a pretty sister. How about that?"

Xiao Ai ignored him completely, just glaring fiercely at Ku Mu: "You all come begging me for money, grain, weapons, and equipment, then tell me not to make things difficult for you!"

"Who else am I supposed to go to?"

"With Xiao Ai here, you've got enough to eat, give or take. But if Xiao Ai really leaves… heh…"

Ku Mu scrambled to defend himself: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! I didn't mean it like that! Lady Gu Ai, please don't pick on me!"
