Chapter 060: Ye Fuli, You're Truly Perverted
"You heard it too, right? Ye Fuli found her way here."
Sneaking upstairs, He Ying grimaced as she confirmed the situation with Ye Zhen.
"If you don't want to be found, hide well."
Ye Zhen sighed and nodded.
She had already sensed the connection between He Ying and Ye Fuli—they must have known each other for a long time!
Whether He Ying would betray her was anyone's guess.
But Ye Zhen wasn't about to gamble on someone else's conscience. She decided to take advantage of the dark, windy night and make her escape tonight.
Even if it meant jumping out the window, she would escape!
Just then, He Ying gripped her shoulders and solemnly warned:
"Don't even think about jumping out the window. There's a pond on this side and a bamboo grove on the other—neither is safe. And most importantly, this is the second floor… Breaking an arm or leg just isn't worth it."
Ye Zhen clenched her jaw.
She desperately wanted to say she could swim—a skill taught to her personally by Ye Fuli!
But the water in that pond looked filthy, with dark green weeds floating on the surface. Even in broad daylight, the distinct stench of decaying water hung heavy in the air. Jumping in would likely feel no different than falling into a septic tank.
Ye Zhen didn't have the courage to jump.
She wasn't afraid of death, but she dreaded suffering worse than death.
As for the bamboo grove on the other side, who knew if it was littered with dry, broken branches? Landing on one of those would be disastrous.
Not to mention, the second floor here was quite high.
Standing at the windowsill and looking down, Ye Zhen felt waves of panic wash over her.
"Don't panic. I'll figure out a way to deal with Ye Fuli. When the moment is right, I'll signal you to make your escape."
"Mm."
There was no other choice.
…
Night.
Ye Fuli remained seated on the sofa, staring blankly at the surveillance monitor.
Shortly after arriving in this town, she had gained control over all the surveillance feeds covering its roads.
Of course, the means by which she gained this control were far from above board.
"Ye Zhen really hasn't left this town."
After reviewing the surveillance footage from the past few days, Ye Fuli reached this conclusion.
A faint smile touched the corners of her lips, revealing a look of certainty.
But the smile quickly faded.
This town, neither large nor small, would require several days to thoroughly search for someone, even with He Ying's connections.
The crucial factor was…
He Ying.
That woman was cunning. Might she have secretly smuggled Ye Zhen out? After all, He Ying and Ye Zhen had already met, and He Ying was highly suspect of aiding in concealing her whereabouts.
Ye Fuli never trusted those around her, relying only on her own eyes and analytical judgment.
At this thought, the gaze she directed at He Ying grew razor-sharp.
He Ying, who was nonchalantly sipping her strawberry yogurt, nearly choked on her drink at the intensity of that stare.
"Uh, why are you looking at me like that? Trying to steal this baby's yogurt?"
Ye Fuli smiled faintly. "Starting today, you're not allowed out of my sight."
"Huh?!"
He Ying was instantly filled with question marks.
What the heck?
If you want to catch Ye Zhen, just go catch her! Why are you holding onto me like this?!
Ye Fuli had made up her mind—she was determined to wait for the rabbit to come to her.
She hadn't slept properly in days, looking like she was on the verge of a mental breakdown, yet she forced her eyes open, determined not to miss a single suspicious trace.
Where did she find such incredible willpower?
She stood up, pulled a pair of gleaming silver handcuffs from her bag, and walked resolutely toward He Ying.
He Ying gasped in horror: "Hey! That's going too far!"
Ye Fuli maintained her smile: "These aren't official ones. Just a children's toy. Please don't be afraid."
Yet behind that smile, there was nothing but the madness of obsession.
The heavy handcuffs drew nearer and nearer.
He Ying swallowed hard, unable to dodge. Her hands trembled as she let the other woman clasp their wrists together.
The click of the lock sent He Ying's heart crashing.
A thin yet sturdy chain stretched between the cuffs, granting her limited freedom of movement—but there was no escaping Ye Fuli's gaze.
"I always knew you were twisted, K1—cruel to yourself and even crueler to others. Now I see the rumors were true…"
Ye Fuli calmly adjusted her glasses. "Miss He, don't say that. If you cooperate with me and hand over the person sooner, we can part ways peacefully. After all, I'm not here for you."
Hearing her threaten her like this, He Ying lost her temper.
Hmph!
You want to bully me, huh? Well, I won't play along.
He Ying tore open a bag of potato chips and crunched away, acting as if Ye Fuli didn't exist.
As for Ye Fuli, she paid her no mind either, picking up her own water cup and taking a sip of invigorating tea.
The subordinates who entered the room saw this scene and their eyes widened in surprise.
But then they remembered—their employer, Miss He Ying, did have some rather eccentric tastes. So they all silently pretended nothing unusual had happened.
He Ying found this utterly ridiculous.
Why don't you protest a little? Better yet, have a few rounds with Ye Fuli to stir up some chaos. That'd let me release this person's restraints.
What a bunch of useless losers. Hmph, this is infuriating.
"Miss, we've searched two streets today and haven't found the person you wanted," one of her subordinates reported.
"Shut up and keep searching! Haven't you seen how anxious my partner is?" He Ying deliberately said, "Delaying K1's business is delaying this lady's business. Making K1 unhappy is making this lady unhappy. And if this lady is unhappy, don't blame me for docking every last cent of your bonuses!"
Ye Fuli maintained her gentle smile throughout.
The burly henchmen, scolded like little kids, silently cursed their luck.
What kind of situation is this?
In the middle of summer, they weren't even being treated like human beings.
"Thank you all for your hard work. Here's a little something for refreshments."
Ye Fuli opened her backpack, pulled out a stack of crisp bills, and tossed them to the assembled men.
"Please continue to take good care of us."
He Ying watched her actions and couldn't help but bite her finger.
Clearly, Ye Fuli was willing to pay any price to secure Ye Zhen.
Money!
What was more important—money or a benefactor?
He Ying shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off every greedy thought filling her mind.
No, no—she couldn't do something so despicable.
The benefactor matters. The benefactor matters most.
"Miss He, you know there's a major boxing event next month, right?"
Ye Fuli crossed her legs, turned her face sideways, and looked at He Ying with a fake smile.
She was skilled at exploiting human weaknesses.
Take He Ying's weakness, for instance—her greed.
"By the way, this boxing event is sponsored by that renowned multinational CEO, Jacqueline. The top prize is fifty million."
"Fifty million?!"
He Ying jumped to her feet.
Her eyes blazed as she fixed them on Ye Fuli.
"You'll go, won't you? My dear K1, you'll go, won't you!"
Ye Fuli shook her head.
In her previous life, she hadn't gone.
Competing personally was certainly fun, but it wasn't necessary.
Ye Fuli rarely stepped into the ring herself; she preferred pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
However, she had thoroughly investigated every detail of this boxing match, both overt and covert.
Everything was firmly within her grasp.
Seeing her shake her head, He Ying immediately threw herself forward, clutching her thigh and pleading tearfully:
"No! No, no, no! You have to go! You absolutely must go! It's fifty million… If we work together—with your genius mind and my massive capital—we won't just win the prize money, we'll rake in at least another hundred million!"
Ye Fuli narrowed her eyes at her.
"Then you must hand over Ye Zhen first."
